Discover more about Umeda Sky Building

The Umeda Sky Building, a landmark in Osaka, offers visitors a blend of architectural innovation and stunning panoramic views. Designed by Hiroshi Hara and completed in 1993, the building comprises two 40-story towers connected at the top by the Floating Garden Observatory. Originally envisioned as a complex of four interconnected towers, the design was scaled down due to economic factors. The Floating Garden Observatory provides 360-degree views of Osaka's skyline. Visitors can ascend to the observatory via a glass-encased escalator that traverses between the two towers, offering a thrilling experience. The observatory features both an indoor observation deck on the 40th floor and the Sky Walk, an open-air rooftop area. At the base of the towers, you'll find gardens providing a tranquil escape from the urban environment. The basement level houses Takimi Koji Gourmet Street, a recreation of a Showa-era (early 20th century) Osaka street, complete with restaurants serving local cuisine. The Umeda Sky Building reflects Osaka's innovative spirit, blending futuristic design with traditional aesthetics. The building is wheelchair accessible, with elevators and ramps throughout.
