    Getting There

    Walking

    From JR Tottori Station, Kyusho Park is approximately a 30-minute walk. Head east from the station, following the main road. You'll pass the Tottori Prefectural Office on your left. Continue straight, and you'll see signs directing you to Kyusho Park.

    Public Transport

    From Tottori Station, take the 100-yen Kururi Bus and get off at stop number 12. Alternatively, take a Nihon Kotsu bus for around 160 yen and get off at the Kencho-Nisseki-mae bus stop. From either bus stop, it's a short 5-minute walk to the park.

    Taxi

    Taxis are readily available at JR Tottori Station. A taxi ride to Kyusho Park will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Taxi fares in Tottori start around 700 yen, with additional charges based on distance and time. Note that there was a special 2000 yen taxi service for foreign tourists, but it is unconfirmed if this is still available.

The park is built upon the ruins of Tottori Castle, which dates back to the mid-16th century and played a role in Japan's Sengoku period. In 1581, the castle withstood a siege for months until starvation forced its surrender. After the Meiji Restoration, the castle grounds were converted into Kyusho Park. Today, visitors can explore the old stone foundations and enjoy panoramic views of Tottori City.Kyusho Park is particularly famous for its cherry blossoms. With hundreds of trees, including Yoshino and Sato varieties, the park is recognized as one of Japan's top cherry blossom viewing spots. During the peak bloom, typically from late March to early April, the park is illuminated at night, creating a magical spectacle.Within the park, visitors can also find Jinpukaku, a French Renaissance-style mansion built in the early 1900s.
