    Getting There

    Public Transport

    From either JR Nikkō Station or Tobu-Nikkō Station, take the World Heritage Sightseeing Bus. The bus ride to the Omotesando bus stop (stop 83) or Taiyuin Futarasan Jinja mae bus stop takes about 10-15 minutes. From there, it's a short walk to the shrine entrance. The bus fare is approximately ¥320 one way. A day pass costs ¥600.

    Walking

    From either JR Nikkō Station or Tobu-Nikkō Station, it is approximately a 30-40 minute walk to Nikkō Tōshogū. The route is well-signposted. The walk provides an opportunity to see other cultural sites, such as the Shinkyō Bridge.

    Taxi

    Taxis are available at both JR Nikkō Station and Tobu-Nikkō Station. The taxi ride to Nikkō Tōshogū takes about 5 minutes. The fare is approximately ¥1,600-¥2,000.

    Driving

    If driving, take the Tohoku Expressway to the Nikkō IC. Parking is available near the shrine. Expect to pay around ¥500-¥600 for parking. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak seasons.
