Walking
From JR Nagano Station, Zenkōji Temple is approximately a 30-minute walk. Exit the station via the Zenkōji Exit and follow the Omotesando (Chuo-dori Street), a 2 km approach lined with shops and restaurants. The path is well-marked with temple signs. Along the way, you'll pass smaller temples, shrines, and traditional buildings. Allow ample time to explore the shops and soak in the atmosphere of this historic temple town.

Public Transport
From JR Nagano Station, take a local bus from Bus Stop #1 (Zenkōji Exit) bound for Zenkōji Temple. Buses number 10 (Binzuru-go), 16, and 17 frequently depart from this bus stop. The bus ride takes about 15 minutes and costs ¥190. Get off at the Zenkōji-Daimon bus stop, from there it is a 5-minute walk to the main hall.

Driving
Zenkōji Temple is approximately 10 km from the Nagano Interchange (IC) on the Joshin-etsu Expressway. From either Nagano IC or Suzaka-Nagano-Higashi IC, it takes about 40 minutes by car to reach the temple. There are several parking lots available near the temple. Parking fees are generally around ¥500.
