Car
If you are driving from central Hakone, head towards Route 1. Follow Route 1 northbound, and continue for about 30 minutes. Look for signs pointing to Kamakura. Once you reach Kamakura, take a left turn onto Nikaidō Street. Continue straight for about 5 minutes, and Kakuon-ji will be on your left at 421 Nikaidō.
Train
From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Railway towards Odawara. At Odawara Station, transfer to the JR Tokaido Line towards Tokyo. Get off at Kamakura Station, which is about 30 minutes away. From Kamakura Station, take a bus (Bus No. 23 or 24) towards Kakuon-ji. After about 15 minutes, get off at the 'Kakuon-ji' stop. The temple will be a short walk from the bus stop.
Bus
From Hakone, take the Odakyu Hakone Highway Bus towards Kamakura. The journey takes about 50 minutes. After arriving at the Kamakura bus terminal, transfer to Bus No. 23 or 24 towards Kakuon-ji. Get off at the 'Kakuon-ji' stop. The temple is just a short walk from there.
