Car
From the Hakone area, head towards Yugawara via Route 1 (Tōkaidō Main Line). Follow signs for Yugawara and then Kajiya. The Mt. Taikan Observation Deck is located at 955 Kajiya, Yugawara, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa 259-0313. Note that the roads can be narrow and winding, requiring careful driving. There is parking available nearby. Expect to pay a toll on the Hakone Turnpike Yugawara toll road.
Public Transport
From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take the Hakone Tozan Line towards Odawara and transfer at Odawara Station. Catch the JR Tōkaidō Line to Yugawara Station. From Yugawara Station, take a local bus towards Kajiya, which will take you close to the Mt. Taikan Observation Deck. The bus fare will typically cost around ¥200-¥300.
