Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Hida City Center. Take Route 41 heading east towards Takayama. After about 15 minutes, you will reach the intersection with Route 158. Turn left onto Route 158 and continue for approximately 5 minutes. Look for signs directing you to Furukawacho Ninomachi. Once you reach the area, follow the local roads to 1-17 Furukawacho Ninomachi, where Honkoji is located. Parking should be available nearby, but be prepared for a small parking fee which may vary.

  • Public Transportation - Bus

    From Hida City Center, take the Nohi Bus line towards Takayama. The bus will make several stops along the way. Get off at the Furukawacho Ninomachi stop, which should take about 30 minutes. From the bus stop, it’s a short 5-minute walk to 1-17 Furukawacho Ninomachi. Look for signs that point to Honkoji as you walk, and be aware that bus fares are typically around 500 yen.
