Getting There

• Car

  If you're driving from the center of Hitachi, head southeast on Route 245 (also known as the Hitachi Minami-Tateishi Line). Follow this road for about 10 kilometers. You'll pass through several residential areas and small towns. Look for signs for Hitachi Seaside National Park (国営ひたち海浜公園) along the way. Once you reach the park entrance, there is a parking fee of approximately 500 yen for cars, which you will need to pay at the entrance.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Hitachi Seaside National Park by public transportation, start by taking the JR Joban Line from Hitachi Station (常陸多賀駅) to Katsuta Station (勝田駅). This journey takes about 15 minutes. Once at Katsuta Station, transfer to the Kanachu Bus (茨城交通) and take the bus heading towards Hitachi Seaside National Park. The bus ride takes approximately 20 minutes, and the fare is around 500 yen. The bus will stop directly at the park entrance.

• Taxi

  For a more convenient option, you can also take a taxi from any location in Hitachi directly to Hitachi Seaside National Park. Taxis are readily available, and the trip will take roughly 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The fare is typically around 2000-3000 yen, so ensure to have cash ready, as some taxis may not accept credit cards.
