Car
If you are driving, head east on Route 6 (Kanto Expressway) from central Hitachi. Take the exit for Hitachi and follow the signs for Kamine Zoo. The zoo is located at 5 Chome-2-22 Miyatacho, Hitachi, Ibaraki 317-0055. There is parking available at the zoo, which costs approximately 500 yen per day.
Public Transportation - Train and Bus
From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line to Katsuta Station. The journey will take about 10 minutes. Once at Katsuta Station, exit the station and take the Ibaraki Kotsu Bus heading towards Kamine Park. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the Kamine Park stop, and Kamine Zoo is just a short 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
Public Transportation - Bus
If you are near Hitachi Station, you can also take a direct bus from there. Look for the Ibaraki Kotsu Bus that goes directly to Kamine Zoo. Buses run every 30 minutes, and the ride takes about 20 minutes. The fare is around 300 yen. Once you arrive at the Kamine Zoo bus stop, you will see the entrance to the zoo.
