Once you approach Tokyo, take the exit 23A towards Shinjuku and merge onto the Shuto Expressway (Tokyo Route 9). Follow the signs for Tsukiji and exit at Tsukiji. There are several paid parking lots nearby, so be prepared for parking fees that generally range from 500 to 1000 yen per hour.

  • Train

    For those preferring public transportation, start at Hitachi Station. Take the Joban Line (常磐線) towards Ueno. The journey is about 1 hour. Transfer at Ueno Station to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line (銀座線) and head towards Asakusa. Get off at Tsukiji Station (築地駅). From Tsukiji Station, it's a short 5-minute walk to the Tsukiji Outer Market. Look for Exit 1, and follow the signs. Note that a train ticket will cost about 1,300 yen.
