If you are traveling by car from Hizen, head towards Route 34. Follow Route 34 southbound, and then take the exit for Route 57 towards Unzen. Continue on Route 57 for approximately 40 kilometers. You will see signs for Unzen Jigoku as you approach the area. There is parking available near the entrance, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500 yen.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at the nearest train station in Hizen. Take a train to Isahaya Station on the JR Nagasaki Line. From Isahaya Station, transfer to a bus bound for Unzen. The bus ride will take about 50 minutes, and a one-way ticket costs around 1,000 yen. Once you arrive at the Unzen bus stop, it is a short 10-minute walk to Unzen Jigoku. Follow the signs, and you'll arrive at the site.
