By Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Hizen City Center and head towards Route 34. Follow the signs for Unzen and continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful rural landscapes and small towns. Once you reach Unzen, look for signs leading to Obamacho Unzen. Continue on the main road until you see a sign for Machiko Rock. There is a parking area available nearby. Please note that parking may incur a fee of around 500 yen.
By Public Transportation
To reach Machiko Rock via public transportation, start by taking a train from Hizen to Isahaya Station, which is approximately 30 minutes away. From Isahaya Station, transfer to a local bus heading towards Unzen. The bus ride will take about 50 minutes. Get off at the Obamacho Unzen bus stop. From there, it is a short 10-minute walk to Machiko Rock. Make sure to check the bus schedule as the frequency may vary, and the fare for the bus is around 600 yen.
