    If you're driving from Sapporo, take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央道) towards Asahikawa. After about 1 hour and 30 minutes, take the Minamifurano exit (南富良野). Follow Route 38 for approximately 20 kilometers until you reach Minamifurano. Once in Minamifurano, look for signs directing you to Kanayama Lake (金山湖) which will lead you onto local roads. The lake is located in Higashishikagoe, so keep an eye out for directional signs. The total drive time is around 2 hours from Sapporo.

    To reach Kanayama Lake using public transport, start by taking a train from Sapporo Station to Furano Station. This journey takes about 2 hours.
