Car
If you are driving, head towards Otofuke in the Tokachi region of Hokkaido. From Sapporo, take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道) towards Obihiro. The drive is approximately 2.5 to 3 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Obihiro, take Route 38 south for about 20 minutes until you see signs for Tokachigawa Onsen. Follow the signs to Tokachi Hill Observatory, which is located at 6 Tokachigawaonsen, Otofuke, Kato District. There is free parking available at the observatory.

Train and Bus
To reach Tokachi Hill Observatory via public transport, start by taking a train from Sapporo to Obihiro Station. The journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. From Obihiro Station, exit and head to the bus terminal located nearby. Take the Tokachi Bus bound for Tokachigawa Onsen (Tokachigawa Onsen行き). The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Get off at Tokachigawa Onsen, then walk approximately 15 minutes to reach the observatory. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may vary.
