Getting There

Car
If you're driving from Sapporo, take the Hokkaido Expressway (道央自動車道) from Sapporo towards Asahikawa. Exit at Biei (美瑛) and take Route 237 towards Shirogane (白金). Continue on Route 237 for about 20 minutes until you reach the Tokachidake Observatory. There is ample parking available at the observatory.

Public Transportation
From Sapporo Station, take the JR Limited Express from Sapporo to Asahikawa Station. Once at Asahikawa, transfer to a local bus bound for Biei. The bus ride will take about 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Biei Station, take another local bus towards Shirogane (白金) which will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Tokachidake' stop, and you'll find the observatory within a short walking distance.

Car
From Furano, take Route 38 (国道38号) towards Biei. After arriving in Biei, follow the signs for Route 237 towards Shirogane. Drive for about 15 minutes, and you will see the Tokachidake Observatory on your right. There's a parking area available for visitors.

If you are in Furano, take the bus from Furano Station to Biei Station. Once you arrive at Biei Station, transfer to a local bus going to Shirogane. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Disembark at 'Tokachidake' bus stop, and the observatory will be a short walk from there.
