Public Transport
From JR Asahikawa Station, take the Ideyugo bus operated by Asahikawa Denki Kido Bus to Asahidake Onsen. The bus journey takes approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. From the Asahidake Onsen bus stop, it's a short walk to the Asahidake Ropeway.
Driving
From Asahikawa, drive east towards Higashikawa. Follow the signs to Asahidake Onsen. Ample parking is available near the ropeway station, though some lots may charge a fee. From the parking area, it's a short walk to the Asahidake Ropeway.
Ropeway
The final approach to the higher elevations of Asahi-dake involves taking the Asahidake Ropeway from the Asahidake Onsen to Sugatami Station. The ropeway operates regularly, with varying hours depending on the season. A round trip ticket costs approximately 3500 yen from June to mid-October and 2600 yen from mid-October through May.
