Car
If you're driving from anywhere in Iki, head towards the main road leading to the ferry terminal. Follow signs for Route 204, which will take you towards the mainland. Once on the mainland, merge onto Route 18 towards Ueda. Continue on Route 18 for approximately 40 minutes until you reach Ueda. Upon entering Ueda, follow signs to Ueda Castle. The Ninomaru Ruins are located at 4-6 Ninomaru, Ueda, Nagano 386-0026. There is parking available nearby, but costs may vary, so be sure to check for signage regarding parking fees.
Public Transportation
To reach Ueda Castle Ninomaru Ruins via public transport, start at the nearest bus or train station in Iki. Take a bus or train to the nearest major station, which is Hakata Station. From Hakata, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Ueda Station. The train ride will take approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at Ueda Station, exit the station and take a local bus or taxi to Ueda Castle. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. If taking a taxi, it will also take around 15 minutes and cost approximately ¥1,500. Make sure to ask the driver for Ueda Castle Ninomaru Ruins, located at 4-6 Ninomaru, Ueda, Nagano 386-0026.
