Car
From Izu, head north on Route 135 towards Atami. Continue on Route 135 until you reach the junction with Route 1. Take Route 1 towards Odawara. After about 20 kilometers, take the exit toward Hakone, and follow the signs for Hakone. Once in Hakone, follow Route 732 to Motohakone. The Hakone Shrine is located at 80-1 Motohakone, which should be well marked. There is parking available nearby.
Public Transportation
From Izu, take a local train from Izu-Atagawa Station to Atami Station. At Atami Station, transfer to the Tokaido Shinkansen (bullet train) heading to Odawara. At Odawara Station, transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway, which will take you to Hakone-Yumoto Station. From Hakone-Yumoto Station, take a bus towards Motohakone. The bus will drop you off near the Hakone Shrine, located at 80-1 Motohakone. Be sure to check the bus schedule for the latest timings.
