Car
If you are driving to the Tsukiyomi Shrine First Torii Gate, start from Kagoshima city center. Head south on Route 225 towards Sakurajima. Continue on this road for approximately 10 km. You will see signs for Sakurajima Ferry Terminal. Follow the signs to the ferry terminal and board the ferry to Sakurajima Island. Once you arrive on the island, turn left onto Route 77 and drive for about 5 km. Look for the signs directing you to the Tsukiyomi Shrine. The First Torii Gate is located at 1722-8 Sakurajimayokoyamacho. There is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation
To reach the Tsukiyomi Shrine First Torii Gate using public transportation, start at Kagoshima Chuo Station. Take the Kagoshima City Tram towards the ferry terminal. The tram ride will take about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, board the ferry to Sakurajima Island. The ferry ride is approximately 10 minutes long. After disembarking, take the local bus that goes to Sakurajima's sightseeing spots. Ask the bus driver to let you off at the Tsukiyomi Shrine stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the First Torii Gate, located at 1722-8 Sakurajimayokoyamacho.
