Getting There

  • Walking

    Ebisuya Arashiyama Rickshaw is located in Sagatenryuji Susukinobabacho, a short walk from major Arashiyama transport hubs. From Saga-Arashiyama Station (JR Sagano Line), exit and walk south towards the main street. Turn right and walk through the traditional Japanese houses. At the intersection, veer left following the sign for the Bamboo Forest. Ebisuya will be on your right. Walking from Arashiyama Station (Hankyu Line) takes you across the bridge and then follow the main road to the left. Cost: Free.

  • Public Transport

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sagano Line to Saga-Arashiyama Station (¥240, 15 minutes). Alternatively, the Keifuku Arashiyama Line connects Arashiyama with Omiya Station (¥250, 20 minutes). From either station, follow the walking directions. Cost: ¥240-250.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available from Kyoto Station to Arashiyama. The ride takes approximately 28 minutes. Cost: Expect to pay around ¥3,072 - ¥4,200.
