From Osaka, take the Hanshin Expressway and merge onto the Meishin Expressway towards Kyoto. Continue on the Meishin Expressway for about 50 km. Take exit 2 for Kyoto IC. Follow signs for Route 162 and then Route 38 towards Ukyo Ward. After about 10 km, turn onto Sagatoriimoto Fukatanicho. The temple, Hondo, is located at 2-5 愛宕念仏寺, which should be visible on your GPS.

From Kyoto Station, take the JR San-in Line to Hanazono Station. The fare is approximately 240 yen. From Hanazono Station, transfer to bus number 73 and alight at the 'Hondo' bus stop, which is about a 20-minute ride. The bus fare is around 230 yen. The temple will be a short walk from the bus stop.
