Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    If you are starting from Osaka Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Kyoto Station. This journey takes approximately 30 minutes and costs around 560 yen. Upon arriving at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Kyoto City Bus. Take the bus number 100 or 206 towards Kiyomizu-dera, which will take you to the Kiyomizu-michi stop. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes, and the fare is around 230 yen. From Kiyomizu-michi, it's a short 10-minute walk up the hill to Kiyomizuzaka.

  • Car

    If you are driving, start from Osaka and head towards Kyoto via the Meishin Expressway. The drive takes approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic. Take the exit for Kyoto-Higashi IC and follow signs for Kiyomizu-dera. You can park at the designated parking lot near Kiyomizu-dera, which costs about 1,000 yen for a day. After parking, it's a 15-minute walk down to Kiyomizuzaka.
