Getting There

Subway
From Osaka Station, take the JR Special Rapid Service train bound for Maibara. Travel for about 30 minutes to Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Line and take the train towards Kokusaikaikan Station. Get off at Karasuma Oike Station (about 5 minutes). At Karasuma Oike Station, transfer to the Tozai Line and head towards Uzumasa Tenjingawa. After 5 stops, get off at Nijo Station. From Nijo Station, take Exit 1 and walk for about 15 minutes northwest along the main road to reach Nishijin Textile Center at 414 Tatemonzencho.

Bus
From Osaka, go to Namba Station and head to the Namba City bus terminal. Take the Kyoto City Bus 205 or 17 bound for Kyoto Station. After approximately 1 hour, get off at the Kyoto Station stop. From there, follow the subway directions provided above, or take a local bus (Bus number 12) from Kyoto Station that directly goes to Nishijin Textile Center. Get off at the Nishijin stop, and the center will be a short walk away.

Train
From Namba Station, take the Nankai Main Line to Nankai Namba Station. Board the Limited Express Rapi:t to Kansai Airport until you reach the Osaka Namba Station. From there, transfer to the Kintetsu Kyoto Line Limited Express to Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, follow the subway directions or take Bus 12 as described above.

Taxi
If you prefer a taxi, you can easily find one at most tourist locations in Osaka. Simply tell the driver ‘Nishijin Textile Center’ or show them the address: 414 Tatemonzencho, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto. The ride will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic. This option is more expensive but provides direct transport without transfers.
