Car
If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to the center of Kyoto. From Kyoto Station, take the road towards the north via Route 367. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto Route 162, heading towards Kamigyo Ward. Continue on this route for about 3 kilometers, and then turn left onto Kitanobecho. Rozan-ji Temple will be located on your left at 397 Kitanobecho, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto, 602-0852. Parking may be limited near the temple, so look for nearby parking facilities.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start at Kyoto Station. Take the Karasuma Line subway towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at the Kokusaikaikan Station (about 30 minutes). From Kokusaikaikan Station, exit the station and board bus number 204 heading towards Kitanobecho. After approximately 10 minutes, get off at the Kitanobecho bus stop. Walk about 5 minutes north on Kitanobecho street, and Rozan-ji Temple will be located at 397 Kitanobecho, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto, 602-0852. Make sure to have cash ready for the bus fare, which usually costs around 230 yen.
