Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Tokaido Line towards Maibara. Get off at the Koka Station. Once you exit the station, head north on Route 1 for approximately 1.5 kilometers. Turn left onto Kokacho Aburahi, and you will find Aburahi Shrine on your right after about 500 meters.

  • Bus

    At Kyoto Station, board the Kyoto City Bus #205 heading towards Kurama. After approximately 50 minutes, get off at the Koka Bus Stop. From the bus stop, walk northeast along Kokacho Aburahi for about 10 minutes, and you will reach Aburahi Shrine.

  • Bicycle

    If you have rented a bicycle in Kyoto, head towards the Kamo River and follow it north, then west towards the Otagi Nenbutsu-ji area. Continue cycling north until you reach the junction with Route 1. Turn right onto Route 1 and follow it for about 3 kilometers until you reach Kokacho Aburahi. The shrine will be on your right.
