Getting There
Train
From Kyoto Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Nara Station. This is a direct train and takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Nara Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located right outside. You can take bus number 70 or 72 towards 'Higashimuki Shopping Street' and get off at the 'Ukimido' bus stop. The Ukimido Pavilion is a short walk from the bus stop.
Bus
From Kyoto Station, you can also take a direct bus to Nara. Look for the Nara Kotsu Bus, which operates from the bus terminal next to Kyoto Station. The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Nara Bus Terminal, transfer to bus number 70 or 72 and get off at 'Ukimido' bus stop. The pavilion is just a short walk from there.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle at one of the rental shops in Kyoto. Cycle towards Nara, which is about 45 minutes away by bike. Follow the designated cycling paths towards Nara Park. Once you reach Nara Park, head towards Takabatakecho where the Ukimido Pavilion is located. There are signs along the way to help guide you.
Walking
If you are already in Nara, you can walk to the Ukimido Pavilion from the city center. It is about a 30-minute walk from Nara Park. Head east through Nara Park, passing the Todai-ji Temple, and then continue towards the Takabatake area. Look for signs pointing to the Ukimido Pavilion; it is located by the water and is easily recognizable.
