Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line (Rapid or Local) towards Nara. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at Uji Station. Once you exit the station, head south towards the main road (Keihan Uji Line). Turn left and walk straight for about 10 minutes. You will see the Asagiri Bridge spanning the Uji River ahead.

From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus number 26 towards Uji. The bus ride takes around 50 minutes and will take you directly to Uji. Get off at the Uji River stop. From there, walk towards the Uji River, and you will reach the Asagiri Bridge in about 5 minutes.

If you are up for an adventure, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Kyoto Station. Ride southeast along the Kamo River, following the bike paths.
