Car
If you're driving, start from Kumamoto City center. Head south on Route 3 (Kumamoto Kotsu) towards Chuo Ward. Follow the signs for Chuo Ward and continue on Route 3 until you reach the intersection with Route 57. Turn right onto Route 57 and continue straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers. After crossing the Kumamoto River, you will see the Meihachi Bridge ahead. There is limited street parking available nearby.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Kumamoto Station, take the Kumamoto City Bus #2 (Shinmachi Line) towards Shinmachi. The bus ride will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Shinmachi' bus stop, which is very close to Meihachi Bridge. After disembarking, walk approximately 5 minutes south along the riverbank to reach the bridge. The bus fare is around 210 yen.
Public Transportation (Tram)
From Kumamoto Station, take the Kumamoto City Tram (Line A) towards Kengunmachi. Ride for about 5 stops and get off at 'Shinmachi' station. From there, it's a 10-minute walk to Meihachi Bridge. Head south on the main road until you reach the river, then turn left and walk along the riverbank. The tram fare is around 200 yen.
