If you are driving to Kumamoto Castle Park (Ninomaru Hiroba), take the Kyushu Expressway and exit at Kumamoto IC. From the exit, follow signs for Kumamoto City. Continue on Route 57 until you reach the city center, then follow signs to Kumamoto Castle. There is parking available near the castle area, but be aware that there may be a parking fee which can range from 500 to 1000 yen depending on the duration of your stay.

For those using public transportation, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kumamoto Station from your starting location in Kyushu. Upon arriving at Kumamoto Station, you can take the tram (Kumamoto City Tram) from the station. Board the tram on the 'A' line towards 'Kengun' and get off at the 'Kumamotojo-mae' station. The tram ride will cost around 200 yen. From the tram stop, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Kumamoto Castle Park (Ninomaru Hiroba). Follow the signs towards the castle.
