Getting There

    From Mikawa, head northwest on Route 19. Continue for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with Route 256. Take Route 256 eastbound towards Okuwa. After about 10 km, you will see signs for Atera Valley. Follow the signs to the parking area located near the entrance of the valley. Be sure to check for parking fees, which may vary but are generally around 500 yen.

    Begin your journey at Mikawa Station. Take the JR Chuo Line towards Nakatsugawa and transfer at Nakatsugawa Station. From Nakatsugawa Station, board the Kiso Town Bus on the route towards Okuwa. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Atera Valley' stop. From the bus stop, it's a short walk to the valley entrance. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited on weekends.
