Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Fujiyoshida city. Get onto Route 139, heading towards Mount Fuji. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Shakushiyama. Turn right onto the road that leads to Oasumi. Continue straight for about 2 kilometers, and you will reach the parking area at the base of Shakushiyama. From there, follow the signs to the hiking trail.
Public Transportation
To reach Shakushiyama by public transportation, start at Fujiyoshida Station. Take the Fujikyu Railway Fujisan Limited Express train towards Kawaguchiko Station. Get off at the Oasumi Station, which is approximately a 10-minute ride. From Oasumi Station, exit and walk straight for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs directing you to Shakushiyama, leading you to the trailhead.
