Getting There

Car

If you are driving, start from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Head northeast on Route 1 towards Odawara. Continue on Route 1 for about 15 km until you reach the junction with Route 138. Take Route 138 towards Fujiyoshida. After approximately 10 km, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Shakushiyama. The peak is located in Oasumi, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi. Look for parking areas near the base of the mountain.
Public Transportation

Begin your journey at Hakone-Yumoto Station. Take the Hakone Tozan Railway train towards Gora Station. Transfer at Gora Station to the Odakyu Line and take the train towards Odawara. Get off at Fujisan Station. From Fujisan Station, you can catch a local bus that goes towards the Fujiyoshida area. Get off at the nearest stop to Shakushiyama, and follow the signs or ask locals for directions to the trailhead.
