Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start from central Nagasaki and head south on Route 34. Follow the signs toward Kuroshima and then turn onto Route 501. Continue on Route 501 until you see signs for Kaba Island. There is limited parking near the lighthouse, so be sure to arrive early during peak tourist seasons. Parking may incur a fee of 500 yen.

• Public Transportation

  For public transportation, take the Nagasaki Electric Tram Line from the city center to the 'Nagasaki Station'. From there, board a bus heading to 'Kuroshima'. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Kuroshima, you will need to take a local taxi or a short walk to reach the port where ferries to Kaba Island depart. The ferry ride lasts about 15 minutes and costs around 1,000 yen round trip. Be sure to check the ferry schedule in advance, as it can vary.

• Ferry

  After arriving at Kuroshima, locate the ferry terminal and purchase your ticket to Kaba Island. Ferries typically run every hour, but the schedule may be limited, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly. Once you arrive at Kaba Island, the lighthouse is a short walk from the ferry landing. Follow the marked paths to reach the lighthouse.
