Nagoya Food Tour: Taste Nagoya’s Local Specialties

The best food of our time in Japan!

Patricia was a great guide and has a unique perspective being from Peru with Japanese ancestry, and moving to Japan when she was 19. The handmade udon noodles with the red miso broth was delicious. She took us to a high-end department store selling luxury brands where the basement had an astounding collection of counters selling food of all types that was so beautifully presented, and a lot of it is made for gifting. We had the best shrimp crackers I've ever eaten and a choice between a local sweet made of sweet potato or a pancake snack with choice of filling that we saw everywhere the rest of our time in Japan. The real highlight came at the end with the restaurant that she described as a special occasion place where we tried the unagi (eel). We were a bit worried that the eel would be too exotic for our tastes but it actually ended up being the most delicious thing we had for our entire trip - marinated in a sweet/savory sauce and charcoal grilled and served over rice, she served us the unagi three different ways. I will never forget how delicious it was!! Patricia was a great guide who answered all of our questions with real knowledge and definitely convinced us that Nagoya is not boring!

Private Nagoya Old Town Walking Tour, Food & Tea Experience

Must-see experience

A very original tour that mixes the tradition and modernity of Japan. Each part of the tour is designed in the smallest detail and Eli was always flexible and answered all our questions very professionally and kindly. It allows you to interact with local people and taste traditional food. Special mention to the kind of tea ceremony that includes the tour and the walk with Mr. Ota. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Nagoya.

Best Street Food Walking Tour in Nagoya

Fantastic Insight Into Local Life

My wife and I went on the Osu Walking Street Food Tour and we both had a great time. We loved the food we were given but the experience was made because of our tour guide Erica. Erica was very knowledgable and open to all sorts of questions which she answered in great detail. She gave us an insight into the local market we had discovered, shrines, temples, shops, the sumo culture and of course food. Erica was kind enough to adapt the tour as I was wanting to try a taiyaki which wasn't part of the tour but she took us to a great place. As for the food, it was incredible and Erica was great when recommending different flavours or options to try different options with. My favourite was either the taiyaki or this tasty shrimp sandwich!
