If you're driving from central Nara, take the Route 24 highway heading towards Kyoto. As you approach Kyoto, follow the signs for Arashiyama. Once in Arashiyama, look for signs directing you to Hōrin-ji Temple. There is parking available nearby. The temple is located at Arashiyama Kokuzoyamacho, Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto, 616-0006.

From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station. Transfer to the JR Sagano Line and head towards Saga-Arashiyama Station. Once you arrive at Saga-Arashiyama, exit the station and walk towards the north along the main street (Arashiyama Main Street) for about 15-20 minutes until you reach Hōrin-ji Temple, located at Arashiyama Kokuzoyamacho, Nishikyo Ward, Kyoto, 616-0006.
