Car
If you are driving from central Nara, take Route 24 eastbound. Continue on Route 24 for approximately 15 km. You will pass through the towns of Naramachi and then Ikaruga. As you approach Ikaruga, look for signs directing you to Horyu-ji. Turn left onto Horyuji Sannai Road, where you will see the entrance to Horyu-ji Temple shortly after. There is parking available near the temple.

Public Transportation
To reach Horyu-ji by public transportation, start at Nara Station. Take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Ikoma. Get off at Horyu-ji Station, which is about a 30-minute ride. From Horyu-ji Station, it is a short 10-minute walk to the temple. Head south on Horyuji Sannai, and follow the signs that lead you to the temple entrance.
