    From Nara city center, take Route 163 north towards Kyoto. After approximately 25 km, merge onto Route 367 towards Kurama. Continue on this road for about 10 km until you reach Kuramahonmachi. Look for signs directing you to Mount Kurama, and you will find parking available nearby.

  • Public Transportation

    Take the Kintetsu Nara Line from Nara Station to Kyoto Station. Upon arrival, transfer to the Eizan Electric Railway. Take the Eizan Railway from Demachiyanagi Station to Kurama Station, which is the closest stop to Mount Kurama. From the station, follow the signs to the hiking trail leading up to Mount Kurama.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer a more direct route and convenience, you can hire a taxi from any location in Nara. Simply provide the driver with the address: Kuramahonmachi, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 601-1111. The taxi will take you directly to Mount Kurama. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.
