Car
If you are driving from Nara, take Route 369 towards Kyoto. Follow the signs for Kyoto and merge onto Route 1. Continue straight for about 35 kilometers. Once you arrive in Kyoto, follow signs for Nakagyo Ward. As you approach Monzencho, look for parking options nearby. The nearest parking lot is approximately a 5-minute walk from Shinsen-en.
Public Transportation
To reach Shinsen-en from Nara using public transportation, start by taking the Kintetsu Nara Line from Nara Station to Kyoto Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line towards Kokusaikaikan and get off at Shijo Station. From Shijo Station, take Exit 5 and walk approximately 10 minutes towards Monzencho. You will see Shinsen-en on your right.
Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, from Nara, board the Nara City Bus to Kyoto Station. The bus ride takes about an hour. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, you can either walk to the subway station or take a local bus to get closer to Nakagyo Ward. If you choose to walk, it is about a 20-minute walk from the station to Shinsen-en.
