Getting there

Train

From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Kyoto. Get off at Yamato-Saidaiji Station (about 20 minutes). From there, transfer to the JR Line. Take the JR Nara Line towards Otsu and get off at Otsu Station (about 30 minutes). Exit Otsu Station and head towards the bus terminal located just outside the station. From the bus terminal, take the bus to Sakamoto. Once you arrive at Sakamoto, walk towards 5 Chome-2-13 Sakamoto, which is approximately a 15-minute walk.

Bus

From Nara Park (a popular tourist spot in Nara), walk to the nearest bus stop, 'Nara Koen Mae'. Take the bus number 70 towards Otsu Station. The ride will take about 40 minutes. Get off at Sakamoto Station. From Sakamoto Station, walk approximately 10 minutes to reach 5 Chome-2-13 Sakamoto, where the Former Chikurin-in Temple is located.
