Getting There

  • Train

    Start your journey at Kyoto Station. Purchase a ticket to Hieizan Sakamoto Station on the Eizan Electric Railway. The ride takes about 40 minutes. Upon arrival at Hieizan Sakamoto Station, you will see signs directing you to the Enryaku-ji Temple. Follow the signs to the bus stop located just outside the station.

    At Hieizan Sakamoto Station, board the bus bound for Enryaku-ji. The journey will take approximately 10-15 minutes. The bus will take you directly to the temple entrance.

  • Walking

    Once you arrive at the Enryaku-ji bus stop, you will be just a short walk away from the temple complex. Follow the path leading uphill, and you will soon find the entrance to Enryaku-ji Temple. The walk is scenic and offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.
