Train
From Nara Station, take the JR Yamatoji Line towards JR Namba. Get off at the Kyoto Station (approximately 45 minutes). At Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Nara Line and take the train towards Inari Station. The journey takes about 5 minutes. Once you arrive at Inari Station, exit the station and walk towards the Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine, which is just a 5-minute walk straight ahead.
Bus
From Nara, you can take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Kyoto Station (about 45 minutes). From Kintetsu Kyoto Station, take the bus number 205 or 100 towards Fushimi Inari Taisha. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the Fushimi Inari Taisha bus stop, and the shrine entrance will be right in front of you.
Taxi
For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Nara to Fushimi Inari Taisha. The trip will take approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic. Just provide the driver with the address: 68 Fukakusa Yabunouchicho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0882.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk from Nara to Fushimi Inari Taisha. It is approximately 37 kilometers and would take about 8 hours on foot. Start at Nara Park and follow the signs towards the Yamatoji Line, then make your way to Fushimi Inari Taisha. This is not recommended for most tourists due to the distance, but it is an option for those who want to experience the countryside.
