    If you are in Nara, take the Kintetsu Nara Line from Kintetsu Nara Station to Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Nara Line to get to Tofukuji Station. Once you arrive at Tofukuji Station, exit the station and head northeast towards the bus stop. Take the Kyoto City Bus #203 or #17 towards Kitayama, and get off at 'Shimogamo Jinja-mae' bus stop. From there, it’s a short 5-minute walk to Kawai Shrine.

    If you prefer to walk, you can start from Nara Park. Head northwest towards Sanjo Dori and follow it until you reach Kintetsu Nara Station. From there, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station, then transfer to the JR Nara Line to Tofukuji Station. After exiting Tofukuji Station, walk northeast to the bus stop and board the Kyoto City Bus #203 or #17, getting off at 'Shimogamo Jinja-mae' bus stop. It's a 5-minute walk from the bus stop to Kawai Shrine.

    For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from your location in Nara directly to Kawai Shrine. It’s best to show the driver the address: 59 Shimogamo Izumikawacho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-0807. The taxi ride will take approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
