Getting There

  • Bus

    From Nara Park, walk to the Nara Kintetsu Station. Take the Kintetsu Nara Line train towards Kyoto. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at Kyoto Station. Once at Kyoto Station, follow the signs to the bus terminal. Take Bus 205, which goes directly to the Kiyamachi-dori area. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes. Get off at the Kiyamachi Sanjo stop, and Kiyamachi-dori will be just a short walk away.

  • Train

    From Nara, head to the Nara Kintetsu Station. Board the Kintetsu Nara Line train towards Kyoto. The ride will take around 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Kyoto Subway. Take the Karasuma Line towards Kokusai Kaikan and get off at Shijo Station. From Shijo Station, exit and walk east towards the Kiyamachi-dori area. It should take around 10 minutes to reach your destination.

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can walk from Nara to Kyoto. The distance is about 40 kilometers and will take roughly 8 hours. Start at Nara Park and head north towards the Yamatoji Line. Follow this line as it gradually leads you to Kyoto. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and explore smaller towns. Once you reach Kyoto, ask locals for directions to Kiyamachi-dori.
