Getting There

Public Bus
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line and ride to Sakai Station. Once you arrive at Sakai Station, exit and find the bus terminal. Look for the bus number that goes to Minamihatagocho. Get off at the stop closest to Nanshu-ji, and from there, it's a short 5-minute walk to the temple. Just follow the signs that direct you toward the temple, which will be on your right.

Train and Walk
Start at Nara Station and take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Osaka. Get off at Tsuruhashi Station, and transfer to the JR Yamatoji Line towards Nara. After a few stops, get off at Sakai Station. From Sakai Station, exit the station and walk approximately 15 minutes to Nanshu-ji. Head southeast on Minamihatagochohigashi and follow the signs leading to the temple.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from anywhere in Nara. Simply provide the driver with the address: 3 Chome-1-2 Minamihatagochohigashi, Sakai Ward, Sakai, Osaka 590-0965. The journey will take around 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

For those feeling adventurous, rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Nara Park. Cycle towards Sakai, which is about 12 km away. Enjoy the scenic route through Nara and upon reaching Sakai, find your way to Minamihatagochohigashi. Nanshu-ji will be a short ride from there.
