Getting There

Bus
From Nara Park, walk to the Nara Kintetsu Station. Take the Kintetsu Nara Line train towards Kyoto and get off at the Saiin Station (approx. 30 minutes). From Saiin Station, exit and walk south on Saiin Kasugacho Street for about 10 minutes. The Saiin Kasuga Shrine will be on your right.

Train
From Nara Station, take the JR Nara Line to Kyoto Station. At Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Sagano Line and get off at Saga-Arashiyama Station. From there, take Bus 28 towards Saiin and get off at the Saiin Kasuga Shrine stop. Follow the signs to the shrine, which will be a short walk away.

Walking
If you are closer to the Kyoto area, start at the Kyoto Imperial Palace. Walk to Marutamachi Station and take the subway to Karasuma Oike Station. From there, transfer to the Tozai Line and get off at the Nijo-jo-mae Station. Walk towards the west for about 20 minutes to reach Saiin Kasuga Shrine.
