Train
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Karasuma Subway Line and head towards Kokusaikaikan Station. After 3 stops, get off at Marutamachi Station.
Bus
From Nara Park, take the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for Kyoto Station. The bus ride takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, you can switch to the Karasuma Subway Line and travel to Marutamachi Station. The temple is about a 20-minute walk from Marutamachi Station.
Walking
If you are already near Nara Park, you can walk to Kintetsu Nara Station. From there, take the train to Kyoto Station. After arriving at Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to Marutamachi Station. Once you exit the station, walk north on Karasuma Street, then turn left onto Nanzenji Fukuchicho. Continue walking straight until you reach Tenjuan Temple.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from your location in Nara to Tenjuan Temple. Just inform the driver to take you to 'Nanzenji Fukuchicho, 86−8, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto.' The journey will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour depending on traffic.
