Getting There

Car
If you are driving from central Nikko, head south on Route 120 (Nikko-kaido). After approximately 10 km, turn right onto Route 121 towards Kinugawa Onsen. Continue for about 5 km and follow the signs for Ryuokyo Canyon. The canyon entrance has a parking lot where you can leave your car. Note that parking may incur a fee of around 500 yen.

From Nikko Station, take the Tobu Nikko Line towards Kinugawa Onsen. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at Kinugawa Onsen Station. From there, you can take a local bus (Nikko Bus) that goes to Ryuokyo Canyon. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes and costs around 300 yen. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance as it may not run frequently.
