Car
If you're driving, head towards the city center of Nikko. From the Nikko Station, take Route 119 heading east. After about 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Kirifuri Kogen. Turn left onto Route 12 and follow the signs for approximately 3 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Kirifuri Kogen. There is parking available on-site.
Bus
To reach Nikko Kirifuri Kogen by bus, start at Nikko Station. Look for the bus stop for local buses bound for Kirifuri Kogen. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Kirifuri Kogen bus stop, which is close to the entrance of the plains. From there, you can easily walk to the main hiking areas.
Taxi
For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Nikko Station. Simply tell the driver you want to go to 'Kirifuri Kogen'. The ride will take approximately 15 minutes, and the fare should be around 2000-3000 yen depending on traffic.
