Getting There

Car
From central Nikko, head south on Route 119 towards the city of Utsunomiya. After approximately 15 kilometers, take the exit onto Route 122 towards Midori. Continue on Route 122 for about 30 kilometers. You will see signs for Takatsudo Gorge; follow these signs until you reach the parking area at Omamacho Omama. The gorge is located a short walk from the parking lot.

Public Transportation
From Nikko Station, take the Tobu Nikko Line train towards Shimo-Imaichi Station. After about 20 minutes, transfer to the local bus service at Shimo-Imaichi Station, taking the bus towards Omama. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the Omamacho Omama stop. From there, Takatsudo Gorge is a short 10-minute walk; just follow the signs leading to the gorge.
