If you are driving from any location in Oki, start by heading to the Oki Airport (OKI). From there, take Route 9 towards the ferry terminal. Board the ferry to Shimonoseki, which takes about 1 hour. Once in Shimonoseki, drive to the Sanyo Expressway and head towards Kyoto. The journey will take approximately 6 hours. Once you reach Kyoto, follow the signs for Kinkaku-ji. It will be located at 1 Kinkakujicho, Kita Ward, Kyoto, 603-8361. Parking is available nearby, but be aware there may be a parking fee.

Public Transportation
To reach Kinkaku-ji using public transport, begin your journey at Oki Airport (OKI). From the airport, take a bus to the ferry terminal and board a ferry to Shimonoseki (about 1 hour). Once you arrive in Shimonoseki, take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto Station, which will take around 2.5 hours. At Kyoto Station, transfer to bus number 101 or 205 towards Kinkaku-ji and disembark at Kinkaku-ji Michi bus stop. The temple is a short walk from there. Be sure to check the bus schedules, as they can vary throughout the day.
